Algolia is a hosted search service. You send it your product catalog, and it returns results as the shopper types, with typo handling, synonyms, filters and facets. Developers build the search box and results page with its libraries, or use ready connectors for platforms such as Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Adobe Commerce.

For ecommerce, the parts that matter most are merchandising and ranking. Merchandisers can pin products to the top of a query, bury out-of-stock items, and set rules for seasonal campaigns, while its AI features learn ranking from clicks and sales. Recommendations and query suggestions sit on the same index.
